Personal Injury - When Do I Need A Lawyer

When do I need a lawyer if I have been injured by someone's negligence?  The answer to that question is contested among many.  If you ask an insurance agent, they will tell you never.  If you ask an attorney they will tell you always.  Truthfully, most small injury claims do not require an attorney to resolve.  In fact, you would lose most of the money you would most likely get if you were to hire an attorney.  Cases that require the assistance of an attorney representing your interest are those in which the injury is substantial, those in which there may be permanent damage, those in which there may be future medical bills relating to the injury (future surgeries) and those in which you were unable to work for an extended period of time because of the injury.  It is also advisable to hire an attorney if you feel a third of your damages is worth hiring an attorney.  If you are injured in South Carolina, whether that be through a car wreck, slip and fall, or any other type of injury relating to another's negligence, you are entitled to damages for your actual loss, your financial loss, medical damages/bills, future medical bills, and punitive damages.  Make an informed decision to hire an attorney and chose one that will aggressively represent your interest.  Choose me.  Daniel Selwa.
